My name is Helena Sansa. I am a Primary education almost graduate, who has studied the degree in English and has currently studied the English minor. I feel passion about teaching and children. Furthermore, I also love painting, drawing, reading, learning new languages and engaging in new experiences or projects, such as volunteering. In regards to my professional trajectory, it is relevant to highlight my teaching internships in three different schools as these experiences have helped me grow personally and professionally. Furthermore, I have been involved in jobs related to education, as I have worked as a private teacher of extracurricular lessons and as a leisure monitor in an English summercamp. Likewise, concerning the languages that I know, I believe it is remarkable my domain in English (especially written). What is more, I consider I am quite fluent when speaking Italian, as I studied abroad for 5 months in Bologna (Italy). With respect to the courses that I have attended, it is significant to mention the leisure monitor course, which I found it was really useful. That is because I learnt a lot about non formal education and its purposefulness. On the other hand, I also give importance to teacher training, apart from the one that I have received at university these last four years. That is why I made an appearance in the APAC ELT Convention this February. I attended several lectures which were profitable to learn about educational resources that can be useful in the English lessons.
As a future teacher, I would like to create meaningful and appealing learning opportunities for my students. I am particularly interested in the teaching and learning of languages, but I would also like to try being a tutor. Besides, I am intrigued by active and innovative methodologies as well as by new technologies. Moreover, I am also fascinated by Letterature, Arts and crafts and Social sciences.
With regard to my teaching goals, I would like to provide in my lessons a safe environment in which all students could express themselves freely. I would place positive expectatives in all pupils as well as I would make sure that scholars regard mistakes as opportunities for learning, not failures. In addition, I would like to attend diversity properly within the classroom, by creating learning tasks that take into consideration all youngsters' needs. Consequently, I would like all students' to success in the educational field and I hold the view that this fact can only occur through inclusion, that is usually confused with integration.
